Beware of Internet Job Scams

Recently, scam artists have targeted some individuals who have posted their resumes on internet job boards with offers of employment at ING Funds. The scam artists may ask for payment in return for job placement or some other employment contract, or they may ask for bank account or credit card information. Beware of such offers from any person or entity posing as ING Funds because they are most likely after your money, not a working relationship.

At ING, we seek to maintain rigorous privacy standards for every job applicant, customer and employee. During the application process all information collected is held in strict confidence. While a background check will be necessary before you start working with ING, please know that we will never ask a candidate to divulge personal bank information prior to accepting an official offer. Once a candidate has accepted an offer, the ING on-boarding process will begin.

Like other areas of the Internet, job sites have been a place that scammers are looking for their next victim. Don't let yourself be a victim of fraud. Here are some facts you should know:

  • ING will never ask you to pay a fee to become employed with us. In addition, we provide any equipment (i.e., computer, phone, etc.) necessary to perform your job duties.
  • We don't ask for any bank account information (which is necessary to deposit salary) until after you begin employment with ING. ING employees are then provided a secure, password-protected site to provide personal information.
  • All of our jobs are available for viewing through our career web site, which is available at the "About ING" section of ING.com/US.
